Renaissance leadership consists of a highly experienced team of pharma services veterans with an average of 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Our team has an impeccable track record of executing our clients’ projects and growing Renaissance into a leading CDMO.

At our state-of-the-art facility in Lakewood, NJ, we can develop and manufacture a broad range of nasal and sterile injectable products.   • Serge Maltais

    President & CEO

    Serge Maltais serves as President and CEO of Renaissance. With over 30 years of experience in managing operations and leading teams in the pharmaceutical space, he is adept at developing and implementing innovative solutions and achieving results. Previously, Serge served as President and CEO of Héma-Québec, a governmental non-profit organization that manages the supply of blood, human tissues, cord blood, and maternal milk throughout Quebec, Canada. Prior to that, Serge served as VP Supply Chain & Commercial Operations for Sandoz in Canada, and held positions of increasing responsibility within Manufacturing and Operations at Baxter. Serge holds a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering from École Polytechnique in Montréal, as well as a Diploma in Business Administration from Université de Sherbrooke, Sherbrooke.

     

  • Robert Harrer

    CFO

    Robert Harrer serves as the CFO of Renaissance. He has over 25 years of experience in financial management, with a strong operational focus in the specialty chemicals and pharmaceutical industry. Previously, he served as CFO at Avantor and Innophos, and held various financial leadership positions at Rohm and Haas. He also served on the Board of Directors of KMG Chemicals until the company was sold to Cabot Microelectronics.

    Robert received his Master of Business Administration and Mathematics from Albert Einstein University in Ulm, Germany.

     

  • Julie Simon

    Vice President, Strategic and Business Development

    Julie Simon serves as the VP of Strategic and Business Development for Renaissance. She has over 15 years of management experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a history of success in identifying & executing unique business opportunities, organizational transformation, and value creation. Julie previously held leadership positions with Ben Venue/Bedford Laboratories, Akorn, APP/Abraxis, Bioniche Pharma and Mylan. Her experience spans commercial, operational and technical verticals, with focus on Business Development, M&A, Commercial Operations, R&D, Strategic Sourcing and Quality.

     

  • Kimberly Ernst

    Vice President, Product Development and Laboratory Services

    Kimberly Ernst serves as the VP of Product Development and Regulatory Affairs. Kim is a seasoned leader with 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. She has deep experience in preparing regulatory submissions, strategizing effective regulatory pathways, and developing innovative approaches. Before joining Renaissance, Kim worked at Impax Laboratories (via CorePharma acquisition) as the Senior Director, Regulatory Affairs. Prior to Impax she worked in roles of increasing responsibility at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, B. Braun Medical Inc, and Teva Pharmaceuticals.

    Kim holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Cedar Crest College and an M.S. in Chemistry from Lehigh University.

     

  • Dan Brennan

    Vice President, Quality

    Dan Brennan serves as the Vice President of Quality at Renaissance. Dan has over 28 years of pharmaceutical experience primarily with sterile injectable products. During these 28 years Dan has held positions of increasing responsibility in Laboratories, Quality Assurance and Manufacturing with Merck and Pfizer.

    Dan holds a BS degree from Stockton State College, Pomona, NJ an MS from West Chester University, West Chester, PA and an MSc in Pharmaceutical Quality from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland.

     

  • Eric Kaneps

    Vice President, Sales & Marketing

    Eric Kaneps serves as the VP of Sales & Marketing. Eric has over 20 years of experience in Sales, Business Development, and Account Management in the pharmaceutical industry.

    Prior to joining Renaissance, Eric led Business Development for Pharma-Tech Industries, a contract manufacturing organization that specializes in prescription and over-the-counter ingestibles and topical products. While there, Eric was responsible for new market expansion through the addition of development services offerings and capability expansion to support drug-device combination products. Prior to Pharma-Tech Industries, Eric worked at DPT Laboratories, Alcan Packaging, and Drug Plastics & Glass Co.

    Eric holds a B.S. B.A. in International Business & Economics from The Ohio State University.

     

  • Al Atkinson

    Vice President, Commercial Services & Supply Chain

    Al Atkinson serves as Senior Director of Commercial Services, leading the team responsible for commercial account management. He has over 20 years of leadership experience in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Quality Systems, Program Management and Commercial Operations.

    Prior to joining Renaissance, Al was Sr. Director of Development Services and Commercial Operations for DPT Laboratories, a Mylan company. In this role, Al had responsibility for the CDMO product development and commercial operations teams as well as oversight of internal tech transfers and repatriation programs for the proprietary business. Prior to this role, Al held positions of increasing responsibility in Manufacturing, Project Management, Quality Systems, Development and Commercial Services.

  • Jeff Higginson

    Vice President, Operations

    Jeff is the Vice President of Operations for Renaissance.  He is responsible for all aspects of Manufacturing, MS&T, Engineering, Facilities & Maintenance, Strategic Initiatives and Operational Excellence.

    Most recently, Jeff held the position of Site Head at Takeda. Prior to that, Jeff held roles of increasing responsibility at Baxter Healthcare including Project Engineer, Supply Chain Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Plant Manager, Director of Global Continuous Improvement, and Senior Director Engineering: Strategic Initiatives. Jeff earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering at The University of Western Ontario and an MBA from The Schulich School of Business at York University.

  • Olutoyin (Toyin) Ojo

    Vice President, Human Resources

    Olutoyin (Toyin) Ojo is the Vice President of Human Resources for Renaissance

    In this role she is responsible for the oversight of the Company’s Human Resources, Environmental Health & Safety and Security functions.

    Toyin brings more than two decades of extensive HR experience across a variety of industries. Prior to joining Renaissance, Toyin served in a variety of HR Leadership roles at the following companies: Emerson, a global manufacturing and technology company; SGS, the World’s leading testing, inspection and certification company and Firmenich, the largest privately-owned perfume and taste business in its industry.

    Toyin holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from City College, the City University of New York and a master’s in human resources management from Rutgers University.
